Scene 1 – Shier Hall
A grand manor, richly appointed; interior. SHIERS reclines upon a cushioned seat. PEMBROKE stands discreetly nearby.
SHIERS: Pembroke, I can find no relief from this terrible depression.
PEMBROKE: I understand entirely, sir.
SHIERS rises to his feet as PEMBROKE approaches him – we expect a comforting embrace.
PEMBROKE efficiently smooths SHIERS’ arse-groove out of the seat-cushion and flips it to present an unindented face.
SHIERS reclines upon the seat.
